[If there is a pretty neat thing about living with Travis, is the fact that oftentimes their wishes dovetail with one another, they aren't really into large Christmases surrounded by family and friends. It's a relief for Oscar, who is more than happy with a low-key, small Christmas.

It's even better now because Jeane has a bunch of kittens (that are just as adorable as her) that tend to follow him and Travis about. Sometimes he lies on the floor with the adorable creatures covering him with a smile on his face that can only be described as 'pure joy'.

On Christmas Eve night, Oscar fixes a small dinner ahead of time. But he lays out a few snacks and sweets to be eaten while they watch movies. He does have a few gifts for Travis (and Jeane, and Jeane's kids) he's already given the kittens their individual collars. But wishes to wait until the right moment to give Travis his presents.

If he were honest, this Christmas is nice, much better than spending it completely alone most of the time.]

[A food item Muriel's unfamiliar with is speeding towards him on a tiny plate. For such a giant person, he sure manages to look like he's experiencing a threat on his life. Like, he genuinely almost runs away, he's so startled.]

[Muriel is 1) cute, 2) looks like he doesn't want to be here, and 3) looks like a WRECK, so obviously the way to prevent him from scampering out the bathroom window is to feed him, insistently...!!!]

[On the tiny paper plate is a plastic fork next to a little cylindrical package, wrapped up neatly in a banana leaf. If he isn't interested, it's TOO LATE because Sana's already shoved it into his hands.]

Suman. It's a sticky rice cake. My sister made them, and they go fast, so I saved you one so you'd get to try it.

[All of those observations are true. It's also true that, as deliberately divorced from society as he is, even Muriel knows it's kind of a dick move to reject something made by somebody's sister.]

[Uncertainly, he uses the fork to roll it slightly sideways. Yeah, the leaf is definitely not sticky, so it must be inside the leaf. He appears thoughtful.]

Do I untie it? [How do you eat food in a leaf. Is it just wrapping. Does he eat it. Why is he so bad at eating things. Maybe he should leave.]
