scream what am I doing
[It is late at night when the latest audio post hits the Santa Destroy network. There is nothing broadcast for many long seconds but the sound of waves. Eventually a voice comes through: female, soft, contemplative, and with a European accent.]
Hmmm.
Strange.
I am alive when I should be dead.
[There is a long pause. More waves crashing on a shore.]
Well, this can't be reincarnation, as I am in the same body. So, this is either one of Sylvia Christel's more bizarre tricks or... I am dreaming.
[A sigh; she sounds simply exhausted.] I don't know which I would prefer.
I wonder, is anyone even listening to this?
[The sound of waves come in again, this time accompanied by shifting sand. The voice is cautious when it returns.] I'll wait here. For now.

[The smile fades to be replaced with an interested frown.] Three years? ...Well, it certainly explains the phone. [The video turns towards the ocean as she turns the communicator around to look at the back.] And those skyscrapers. [When she appears on screen again, she is looking up and off-camera.] Much has changed, if there are skyscrapers in Santa Destroy.
Including you. [She turns back to him.] Barring your fashion sense. Three years, and you are still wearing those sunglasses, I see. [She smiles, pointing towards her temple.]
NO HE WILL BE MOE FOR YOU
Twice over, actually.
There was a sequel, y'know.
[Travis falls silent, taking in the sound of her voice again. God, they'd only known each other for, what, less than an hour? And yet here she is, talking to him like they've known each other for decades.]
Heh, you're wrong. [He taps the frames with a finger.] These ones are new.
porqueeeeeeee
Oh. [Holly places a solemn hand over her heart.] Of course. How foolish of me not to recognize the difference.
I hope this doesn't happen often, your opponents coming back from the dead. [She sounds like she could be talking about the weather.] It would make what I said about death being the final truth quite a lie.
